Head of Music required
We are looking to appoint a talented, enthusiastic and dedicated individual who can offer the vision and creativity to lead and shape delivery of this popular subject. The successful candidate will lead the teaching of music and to raise standards of student attainment and achievement within Music. The music department plays a key part in the life of the academy and the enrichment of our students. Large numbers of students are involved in extracurricular activities including bands and choirs.
The placement is based at a popular, vibrant and successful 11-18, non-selective school. The school is newly built and well designed with spectacular facilities throughout. The school has a Sixth Form facility, Hi Tech Dance Studio, Gym and Drama facilities as well as modern well equipped classrooms with the latest interactive teaching technology. Outside the spacious grounds have football/rugby/hockey pitches as well as an all-weather 3G pitch and 4 netball courts. Athletics is also catered for and the school benefits from having its own state of the art swimming pool.
This is a full time, maternity position which is due to commence from January 2019.
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
- Teaching qualification
- Degree in Music
- Leadership experience
- An excellent track record of examination success at Key Stages 3-5
- Passionate about music and will inspire our students to be so as well by providing a creative and engaging learning environment
- Highly energetic with the ability to motivate those around them
- Committed to the continuation of music enrichment across the academy
