About the role:
justteachers are recruiting for a part-time temporary SEN Youth Worker to start ASAP at a specialist educational and support provision in Grantham supporting children and young people with additional needs. This role involves evening and weekend working.
This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people by providing support, guidance and encouragement through a range of structured activities. The provision focuses on helping children and young people develop confidence, social skills, independence and emotional resilience in a safe and inclusive environment.
As an SEN Youth Worker, you will help deliver engaging activities that support personal development while building positive relationships with young people and their families. This role would suit someone with a background in education, care, youth work or support work who is passionate about helping others achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Support children and young people during evening and weekend sessions.
Deliver and assist with structured activities and enrichment opportunities.
Encourage positive social interaction and relationship building.
Support emotional wellbeing and personal development.
Promote independence and life skills.
Build trusting and professional relationships with young people.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding practices.
Work as part of a supportive and collaborative team.
Pre-requisites:
Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults.
SEND, youth work or support work experience desirable.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Patient, positive and adaptable approach.
Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
Ability to provide two professional references covering the last two years of employment, education or training.
