About the role:

Justteachers are working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Altrincham that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis. The role is available from September, although the school is happy to wait until October for the right candidate.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and committed Science Teacher who is eager to inspire students and foster a love of science across Key Stages 3 and 4. The successful candidate will join a supportive department, delivering engaging lessons that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Teach Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in line with the national curriculum, with opportunities to specialise where appropriate.
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, using data to inform planning and support student achievement.
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND, EAL, and higher-attaining students.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes participation and a love of learning.

Pre-requisites:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting is desirable.
  • Strong subject knowledge across the Science curriculum and the ability to deliver engaging lessons at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A commitment to supporting pupils of all abilities to achieve their full potential.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative department and wider school team.
  • A flexible, proactive, and professional approach to teaching and learning.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Two recent education-based references.
