About the role:
Justteachers is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Teacher to join a specialist setting in the Wakefield area on a long-term basis.
This full-time position is due to start as soon as possible, with shortlisting currently underway. The school is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment where pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) are empowered to achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
• Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the needs of pupils with SLCN
• Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes communication, confidence and achievement
• Adapting teaching methods and resources to support a range of communication and learning needs
• Working closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, speech and language therapists and families to support pupil progress and wellbeing
Pre-requisites:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Previous experience teaching pupils with SEND, particularly those with SLCN
• A strong understanding of differentiated teaching and inclusive learning practices
• Excellent classroom management, communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Two recent education or school-based references
