Justteachers are thrilled to be working with a forward-thinking secure unit for young people aged 10-17 near Sleaford, which is seeking a passionate and dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their team as soon as possible.

This full-time, long-term supply role offers an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable young people. You will support students in managing challenging behaviours, building emotional resilience, and developing essential skills for a successful future. This role is ideal for someone with exceptional interpersonal skills, unwavering patience, and a genuine commitment to empowering young people to overcome obstacles and thrive.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being within a secure, structured learning environment.
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to help young people develop self-regulation and resilience.
  • Collaborating with teaching staff and support teams to implement tailored behaviour management strategies.
  • Offering specialised support to students with additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and SEMH challenges.

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • Relevant experience working within an educational or care setting, ideally in a secure environment.
  • A strong understanding of SEND/SEMH, with proven strategies for supporting young people with diverse needs.
  • Two education or school-based references.
  • A clear Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to apply for one.
  • The legal right to work in the UK.
