Justteachers is on the lookout for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant, forward-thinking school in the Louth area. This full-time position is available immediately, with shortlisting already underway.

The school is committed to supporting a diverse range of learners aged 2 to 19, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) in place. In addition to addressing learning difficulties, the school provides tailored support for students with additional challenges, including autism, communication difficulties, complex health issues, sensory processing difficulties, physical disabilities, profound and multiple disabilities, sensory impairments, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one and small group support to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Assist in the implementation of personalised support plans tailored to each student’s unique needs.
  • Provide additional support with personal care and mobility where required, promoting student independence.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, the SENCO, and other professionals to deliver a consistent and effective learning experience.
  • Monitor and document student progress, ensuring accurate records to inform future planning.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary meetings and the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Support the social, emotional, and behavioural development of students, creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Engage with parents and carers to share progress and discuss strategies to support their child’s learning and well-being.
  • Assist in the implementation of school policies and procedures to maintain a safe and nurturing learning environment.

 

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support.
  • Demonstrable experience working with children or young people with additional needs, particularly those with SEND.
  • A strong understanding of supporting children with EHCPs and diverse additional needs.
  • Two education or school-based references.
