We are seeking an experienced and passionate Drama Teacher to join a busy and dynamic secondary school on the outskirts of Halifax on a full-time, long-term basis, as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated educator with a flair for drama to inspire students and contribute to a thriving performing arts department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality drama lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5. You will be expected to create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, confidence, and teamwork. A key part of the role will be developing students’ performance skills, fostering a love for drama, and preparing students for assessments, showcases, and school productions.

In addition to delivering the curriculum, you will play an active role in the wider creative and performing arts programme, supporting extracurricular activities such as drama clubs, school plays, and performances. The ability to direct and coordinate school productions would be highly desirable. Strong classroom management skills, enthusiasm, and the ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities are essential.

The ideal candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and proven experience teaching Drama at a secondary level, although applications from non-qualified, experienced educators will be considered. You should be confident in developing and delivering engaging lessons that encourage self-expression and creativity while ensuring students meet their academic potential. A passion for the performing arts, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a supportive department are key attributes for this role.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy and high-achieving school that values the arts and recognises the importance of creativity in education. The school offers a supportive environment, excellent facilities, and professional development opportunities, making it an ideal setting for an ambitious and enthusiastic Drama Teacher to thrive.
