An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic General Cover Teacher to join a vibrant Secondary school in the Blackburn area on a full-time, long-term basis. The position is set to commence in February 2025, with shortlisting currently in progress.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Delivering lessons across various subjects in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Ensuring a positive learning environment and maintaining classroom discipline
  • Following lesson plans and adapting them to suit the needs of the students
  • Managing student behaviour in line with the school’s policies
  • Monitoring and supporting students’ progress during lessons
  • Marking and providing feedback on students’ work as required
  • Assisting with the supervision of students during breaks and other activities
  • Reporting any issues or concerns regarding students to the relevant staff
  • Supporting the school’s overall mission and values in daily practice
  • Adapting to different year groups and subject areas as needed

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • Relevant qualifications
  • Proven experience of teaching KS3 & KS4
  • Strong knowledge of National Curriculum
  • Two education or school-based references
