Justteachers is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Maths Teacher to join a specialist Secondary SEN School in Leicester. This school supports students with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASC), moderate to severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD), and complex needs. The school provides a nurturing and structured learning environment, ensuring that every student receives the personalised support they need to develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills.

This role is full time on a supply basis, with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and accessible Maths lessons, adapting teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Differentiate learning materials to support students with varying cognitive abilities and learning styles.
  • Work closely with support staff, therapists, and families to create a consistent and supportive learning environment.
  • Foster numeracy skills for real-life application, promoting independence and problem-solving.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience teaching and supporting students with SEN in a school setting.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated teaching methods for students with additional learning needs is highly desirable.
  • Experience using visual aids, multi-sensory approaches, and assistive technology is highly desirable.
  • Ability to provide two education or school-based references.
