Justteachers are seeking a compassionate and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in KS1 at a welcoming primary school in the Horncastle area.

This full-time role requires someone with a patient and nurturing approach, who can provide dedicated support to help the pupil thrive in their learning and development. The role is due to start after February half term and will last until the end of the academic year.

The school has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Pupils are well behaved and enjoy going to school here.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child in KS1, adapting strategies to meet their individual needs
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement personalised learning and behaviour support plans
  • Assist with both academic tasks and social development, helping to build the child’s confidence and independence
  • Use effective strategies to support engagement, concentration, and emotional regulation
  • Foster a positive and supportive relationship with the pupil, ensuring they feel safe and valued within the school environment

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience supporting pupils 1:1 is essential
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with staff, pupils, and parents
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to support individual learning needs
  • Two education or school-based references are essential
