Justteachers are recruiting for a SEN Teacher for a Primary aged PRU in Burnley. The setting provides specialised support for primary aged students that are struggling to meet the behavioural expectations of their mainstream school, or who are at risk of exclusion. They work closely with parents/carers and professionals to ensure better outcomes for pupils and provide a short-term, intensive and therapeutic approach to delivering education.

Expected start date: 24 February 2025 – Immediate start dates available.

Key Duties Include:

  • Conducting evaluations to determine students’ unique learning needs and abilities is a key responsibility.
  • Collaboration is essential, as this role involves working closely with parents, guardians to coordinate support and monitor progress.
  • Employing techniques for managing classroom behaviour and fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment are vital for creating a space where all students feel valued and encouraged.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience supporting and teaching children with additional needs in a school setting.
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Understanding of the unique challenges faced by students with additional needs, including sensory needs and communication difficulties.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Two education or school-based references
  • A clear enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one.
  • The legal right to work in the UK.
