Justteachers is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner Specialist Schools in the North of Coventry. The school provides tailored support for primary-aged students with physical and educational needs, working closely with parents and carers to ensure the best possible care and education for each child.

This is a full-time, term-time position starting after the February half term, with the potential for a permanent role for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students both individually and in groups with academic tasks and learning activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other professionals (e.g., speech and language therapists, occupational therapists) to ensure a holistic approach to supporting students.
  • Assist with personal care tasks, including feeding, toileting, and mobility support.
  • Promote student independence by teaching life skills, problem-solving, and self-management strategies.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience supporting children with additional needs in an educational setting.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by students with additional needs, including sensory and communication difficulties.
  • Experience with communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, or other visual aids is highly desirable.
  • Two education or school-based references.
