justeachers are looking to recruit experienced Behaviour Support Assistants to work in a school in Coventry starting February 25. This would be a fantastic opportunity for Support Assistants with experience in assisting pupils with SEMH (Social Emotional Mental Health) to join a motivated and supportive team of professionals. You will be working with children that display consistent and severe behaviours and consequently need supporting in order to recognise and de escalate their behaviours. This is a full time role on a fixed term basis until July 2026.

Working within this role your main responsibilities will be to raise self-esteem at every opportunity, ensuring you offer a consistent strategy to encourage positive provision to allow each child to enjoy school life and to contribute in learning.

Through working in these schools you will be offered a very supportive and experienced staff team with continued professional development opportunities so that you will always be equipped to support learning and behaviours. It’s essential the candidate has a good understanding of classroom and safeguarding practices and a refresher will be offered to all candidates who have not had safeguarding training in the past 12 months.

The ideal candidate will be a team player, have upto 6 months experience supporting children with SEND or SEMH. You will be patient and positive and fully committed to the success of the children and the school.

You will need:

  • Level 2 or higher teaching assistant qualification or equivalent (Must be relevant to working with children)
  • Proven experience working with children in a school or relevant setting (That can be referenced)
  • A minimum of two references that cover the past two years, including last employer. Ideally references will be education or school-based references
