justteachers are looking for a dedicated KS3 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Coventry. This position is available on both a full-time or part-time basis, starting immediately. In this role, you’ll provide vital support to students with a range of special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to KS3 students with special educational needs.
  • Assist with personal care tasks, ensuring each child’s dignity and well-being are respected.
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum, adapting resources and activities to meet individual needs.
  • Use communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, and assistive technology to support student learning.
  • Promote positive behaviour and social skills, using strategies to manage and guide students.
  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement personalised learning plans.
  • Encourage independence and help students develop life skills in a structured environment.

Ideal candidates will have :

  • Previous SEN experience
  • Teaching assistant qualification or relevant
  • Strong leader
  • Independent thinker
  • Strong Safeguarding knowledge
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the pupils and school.
  • Two recent professional references from an educational or childcare setting.
