Justteachers are excited to offer an opportunity for a dedicated KS2 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Coventry. This full-time position is available for an immediate start, where you will provide essential support to children with a range of special educational needs in a nurturing and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with children in KS2, offering one-to-one and small group support.
  • Assist with personal care tasks as needed, ensuring the safety, dignity, and well-being of each child.
  • Support the academic development of students, adapting lessons to meet individual needs and abilities.
  • Use communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, and visual aids to aid student understanding.
  • Foster social and emotional development, promoting positive interactions and behaviour.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to implement tailored learning plans.
  • Encourage student independence and support them in developing life skills.

Ideal candidates will have :

  • Previous SEN experience
  • Teaching assistant qualification or relevant
  • Strong leader
  • Independent thinker
  • Strong Safeguarding knowledge
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the pupils and school.
  • Two recent professional references from an educational or childcare setting.
