An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Teacher of Physical Education to join a dynamic Secondary School in the Preston area on a long-term, full-time basis. The role is set to begin in February 2025, with shortlisting currently underway.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons that promote physical activity, teamwork, and healthy living
  • Teach a range of physical education skills, including fitness, sports, and outdoor activities
  • Assess and monitor students’ progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development
  • Support students in preparing for GCSE and/or BTEC PE exams
  • Promote inclusion by adapting lessons to cater for students with varying abilities and needs
  • Organise and lead extracurricular sports clubs, teams, and school competitions
  • Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, ensuring all health and safety guidelines are followed
  • Encourage positive behaviour, teamwork, and sportsmanship in all activities
  • Foster students’ personal and social development through physical education
  • Keep accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievement
  • Liaise with parents and carers regarding students’ progress and participation in activities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve the PE curriculum and resources
  • Participate in school events, sports days, and inter-school competitions
  • Engage in professional development to stay current with trends and best practices in PE teaching

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • Relevant qualifications
  • Proven experience of teaching Physical Education to KS3 & KS4
  • Strong knowledge of Physical Education
  • Two education or school-based references
