Justteachers is seeking a dedicated and resilient English Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) School in Nuneaton. This school is committed to providing a nurturing and structured learning environment that supports students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and academic skills.

The role is Part-Time Monday to Wednesday on a supply basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and accessible English lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH needs.
  • Differentiate learning materials and approaches to support individual progress, ensuring students feel motivated and included.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and personal development.
  • Work closely with parents, carers, and external professionals (e.g., therapists, social workers) to create and implement effective support strategies.
  • Promote emotional well-being and self-regulation through creative and structured learning activities.
  • Maintain a calm and consistent classroom environment using positive behaviour management strategies.

  • Experience teaching and supporting students with SEMH needs or in an alternative provision setting.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
  • A strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH and experience in adapting teaching approaches accordingly.
  • Experience using trauma-informed approaches and positive behaviour management techniques.
  • Ability to provide two education or school-based references.
