Justteachers is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Year 6 Teacher to join a welcoming school just outside Skipton. This full-time position is to cover a long-term absence, offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced KS2 teacher. The position is due to start as soon as possible.

The Role:

We are looking for someone who can step into a Year 6 class and provide engaging, high-quality teaching. Your role will include:

  • Delivering well-structured and engaging lessons tailored to the needs of the class.
  • Providing targeted support to pupils with SEN, ensuring all children can access learning in a way that works for them.
  • Preparing pupils for their SATs assessments in a calm and supportive way.
  • Creating a classroom environment that is positive, inclusive, and encourages confidence in learning.
  • Working closely with SEN specialists, teaching assistants, and parents to provide the best possible support for pupils who need extra guidance.

What We’re Looking For:

This role would suit a teacher who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Has strong experience teaching in Key Stage 2, particularly Year 6.
  • Proven SATs results
  • Is confident in supporting children with additional learning needs and adapting lessons accordingly.
  • Has a nurturing and patient approach, helping pupils to develop both academically and emotionally.
  • Is a team player who enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider school community.
  • Two education or school-based references are essential.
