JustTeachers is recruiting for a SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teacher to join a thriving, dedicated school that provides education and support to students with SEMH needs. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on personal growth and development, where you will make a real difference in students’ lives. The school are looking for someone who can fill a full time position, however they are open to part time for the right person. The position is to begin as soon as possible until the end of the academic year.

In the role you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, student-centered lessons that focus on personal, social, and academic development for students with SEMH needs. Your key responsibility will be creating a structured yet flexible learning environment that supports students in overcoming barriers to learning. You will play a vital role in building positive relationships, managing challenging behaviours, and promoting emotional well-being.

Key duties will include:

  • Planning and delivering lessons that meet the diverse needs of students
  • Providing emotional support and guidance to help students manage their behaviour and improve their social skills
  • Collaborating with colleagues, support staff, and external agencies to create personalised learning plans
  • Using effective behaviour management strategies to ensure students engage in lessons
  • Monitoring progress and reporting on students’ academic and social development

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience teaching pupils in a secondary or SEMH setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Passion for supporting vulnerable children and a commitment to student development.
