£140 - £200 PER DAY DEPENDENT UPON EXPERIENCE

We are seeking a dedicated General Cover Teacher to provide full-time support across a busy secondary school in Liversedge, Kirklees, starting after February half-term.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and structured lessons across a range of KS3 and KS4 subjects, following pre-prepared lesson plans where available.
  • Ensure high standards of classroom management and student engagement, maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Adapt quickly to different subjects and classes, responding flexibly to timetable changes and cover requirements.
  • Provide support and guidance to students, fostering their academic progress and well-being.
  • Uphold the school’s behaviour policies and ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning atmosphere.
  • Liaise with subject teachers and senior staff to ensure continuity in students’ education.
  • Undertake duties such as break and lunchtime supervision as required.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification is desirable, but experienced cover supervisors and unqualified teachers with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students effectively.
  • Confidence in delivering lessons across a variety of subjects at KS3 and KS4.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to teaching in a fast-paced school environment.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one prior to starting).
  • A passion for education and a commitment to supporting young people’s learning and development.
