Justteachers, a leading teaching agency, is seeking a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 child in a primary setting. The child has autism, ADHD, and occasionally displays challenging behaviour. We need a compassionate and dedicated teaching assistant who can make a positive impact on this child’s educational journey and provide consistent support throughout the school year.

This role is due to start after February half term with the view to stay until the end of the academic year.

About the Role:

  • Providing 1:1 support for a Year 4 child with autism, ADHD, and challenging behaviour
  • Helping the child with their educational tasks, social development, and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualised learning strategies
  • Assisting the child in managing behaviour and promoting a positive learning experience
  • Encouraging social interaction and helping the child feel integrated into the school environment

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly autism and ADHD
  • Teaching Assistant qualifications (Level 2 or 3 preferred)
  • Patience, resilience, and a passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to work effectively in challenging situations
  • A commitment to consistent support throughout the school year, helping the child progress academically and socially
  • A clear Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply
  • Two relevant references
  • The right to work in the UK
