Justteachers are on the lookout for a English Teacher in a Secondary School in the Lancashire area. This post is due to start in February 2025 with shortlisting currently taking place.

Part time candidates will be considered.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in English for KS3 and KS4 students
  • Teach key skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening
  • Develop students’ understanding of literature, language, and grammar
  • Prepare students for GCSE English Language and Literature exams
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Encourage critical thinking and analysis of texts, both classic and contemporary
  • Create differentiated lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Foster a love of reading and writing across various genres
  • Manage classroom behaviour and create an inclusive, supportive environment
  • Stay up to date with changes to the English curriculum and assessment methods

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • Relevant qualifications
  • Proven experience of teaching English at KS3 & KS4 level
  • Strong knowledge of English in the National Curriculum
  • Two education or school-based references
