Justteachers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time SEN Support Assistant to work with Key Stage 1 (KS1) pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the Burnley area. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting children with diverse learning needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment.

The position is to start ASAP and ideally will be full time until the end of the year, however part time candidates will be considered.

About the school:

  • The school is a small primary school that has a very welcoming team
  • The team has a fantastic SENCO that provides regular interventions and next steps to teachers and teaching assistants

The ideal candidate will:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to KS1 pupils with SEN, tailored to individual learning plans.
  • Assist with classroom activities and ensure that all children are actively engaged and supported in their learning.
  • Help with behavior management, promoting a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Liaise with the SENCO and class teachers to monitor progress and update learning plans as required.
  • 2 education or school based references from within the last 2 years
