Justteachers are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a motivated and caring Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in Northampton. This full-time position is available for an immediate start, initially on a supply basis, with the potential to become permanent for the right individual.

The role involves supporting young children with a variety of complex needs, helping them to access a tailored learning environment where they can thrive. Working closely with a highly supportive team, you will play a vital role in nurturing each child’s development, fostering independence, and ensuring their well-being.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting individual pupils or small groups with their learning and personal development.
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging, accessible, and inclusive lessons.
  • Encouraging progress in areas such as communication, social skills, and independence.
  • Providing care and assistance with personal or medical needs as required (training provided).
  • Helping to create a nurturing and positive classroom environment.
  • Observing and recording pupils’ progress, contributing to their individual learning plans.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A relevant qualification in Teaching Assistance or Care.
  • Experience working with children with additional needs is beneficial but not essential.
  • A patient, understanding, and flexible approach to working with young learners.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the pupils and school.
  • Two recent professional references from an educational or childcare setting.
