Justteachers are delighted to present an excellent opportunity for a Qualified Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive SEN school in Northampton. This full-time position is set to start as soon as possible, with interviews and shortlisting taking place now. This position is on a supply basis initially with the opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate.

The school provides specialised education for up to 100 students diagnosed with autism and/or severe learning difficulties, all of whom have an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP). Currently catering to students in Years 7 to 10, the school is in a period of growth and expansion. It is dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where students can thrive academically while also developing essential life skills and personal growth.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Delivering high-quality, engaging lessons to meet the diverse needs of students across a range of subjects.
  • Supporting students with their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Implementing strategies outlined in students’ EHCPs to help them achieve their goals.
  • Collaborating with staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitoring student progress and providing regular feedback to colleagues and parents/carers.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and fostering a safe and supportive classroom atmosphere.

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with students with autism, severe learning difficulties, or additional needs (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to teaching.
  • A commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.
  • Two recent, school-based references.
