Justteachers are currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEN TA to support a child with SEN in a well-regarded school in Bradford. The role is available for an immediate start and will continue until at least the summer of 2025.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working one-to-one with a child with Special Educational Needs, providing tailored support to help them fully engage in their learning and develop their skills. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement specific strategies and interventions that meet the child’s individual needs. This role is crucial in ensuring the child’s academic and emotional progress, as well as supporting their integration into school life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to a child with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
  • Assist with personal care and ensure the child’s well-being throughout the school day.
  • Support the child’s emotional and social development, encouraging independence and self-confidence.
  • Work closely with the teacher to implement learning strategies and track the child’s progress.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment that supports the child’s needs.
  • Liaise with parents and other professionals to provide feedback and discuss progress.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience working one-to-one with a child with SEN (autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, etc.).
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to supporting children with additional needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to adapt and implement a range of strategies to support a child’s individual learning needs.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality care and support to children.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with children with a variety of SEN needs.
  • Knowledge of relevant safeguarding and child protection procedures.
