justteachers is proud to be working with a well-established primary school in Barnsley to find a passionate and dedicated Year 6 Teacher. This exciting opportunity is perfect for an individual who is committed to delivering high-quality education and ensuring that Year 6 students are fully prepared for their transition to secondary school.

The successful candidate will have experience teaching in Key Stage 2 and will possess the skills and enthusiasm to create an engaging and supportive learning environment. You will be responsible for teaching the Year 6 curriculum, including preparing students for SATs, while nurturing their academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, teach, and assess lessons in line with the National Curriculum for Year 6
  • Prepare students for their SATs exams while supporting their overall growth and development
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Track and monitor pupil progress, providing tailored feedback and support
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure effective communication and collaborative planning
  • Engage with parents to keep them informed about their child’s progress
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A qualified teacher with experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
  • Strong knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum, particularly in preparation for SATs
  • Passionate about education and providing high-quality teaching
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage pupils and parents
  • Able to adapt lessons to suit the needs of diverse learners
  • Proactive, professional, and committed to continuous professional development
  • A Clear Enhanced DBS check or be willing to undertake one.
  • Two education or school-based references
  • The legal right to work in the UK
