justteachers is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and vibrant school in the LS6 area of Leeds. This role provides an exciting opportunity to support pupils’ learning and development, working as part of a dedicated team to create a positive and inclusive environment for all children.

Role Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and supporting the delivery of the curriculum.
  • Work one-to-one or with small groups of pupils to provide tailored support and intervention.
  • Help prepare teaching materials and set up activities to ensure effective learning.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages pupil participation.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers to inform lesson planning.
  • Support children with additional learning needs, using strategies to enhance their confidence and skills.
  • Assist with classroom organisation and the daily routines of the school.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working with primary-aged children in an educational setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • A flexible, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to supporting classroom activities.
  • A valid right to work in the UK (this is a mandatory requirement).
  • An enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
