Justteachers is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Leyland. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work closely with a supportive teaching team, inspiring children to achieve their best in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing in-class support to teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Supporting individual pupils or small groups, including those with additional learning needs, to achieve their educational goals.
  • Assisting with the preparation of teaching materials and classroom displays.
  • Promoting positive behavior management and contributing to a safe and enjoyable learning environment.
  • Supervising pupils during break times and other non-classroom activities as required.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to support the school’s vision and values.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a school or similar educational setting is highly desirable.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to different situations.
  • A relevant qualification, such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, is preferred but not essential.
  • An enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to undergo one.
