We are seeking a PMLD Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and vibrant educational team in Lincoln immediately . The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students who have profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the learning, well-being, and development of our students, helping them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with PMLD, including assisting with communication, mobility, and personal care as needed.
  • Support the class teacher in delivering tailored lesson plans and adapting learning resources to meet individual needs.
  • Assist in creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help with sensory, motor, and communication activities designed to enhance student development.
  • Work closely with other staff members, including therapists, to implement strategies and interventions for students.
  • Monitor and record students’ progress, providing feedback to the teacher and other members of the team.
  • Support students during breaks, lunch, and in social settings to promote inclusion and social development.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all students at all times.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or adults with PMLD or special educational needs (SEN).
  • A caring and patient approach with a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable students.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to adapt communication methods for students with complex needs.
  • Knowledge of PMLD-related strategies and techniques (such as sensory integration, communication aids, etc.) is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from the class teacher and other professionals.
  • A commitment to professional development and ongoing training in the field of special education.
  • An enhanced DBS.
  • Two education or school-based references.
  • You must have the legal requirements to work in the UK.
