Are you a dedicated and passionate teacher with a commitment to supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). justteachers is seeking an experienced SEND Teacher to join one of our partnered schools. This role offers the chance to make a profound impact on the education and development of young learners who need extra support.

Job Description

As an SEND Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of students with SEND.
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to ensure inclusivity and accessibility.
  • Foster a supportive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to implement strategies outlined in Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to pupils, parents, and relevant professionals.
  • Collaborate with the school’s SENDCo, parents, and external agencies to achieve the best outcomes for each student.
  • Promote social and emotional development, encouraging confidence and independence.

Qualifications and Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with experience in SEND teaching.
  • A thorough understanding of SEND strategies, interventions, and the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Experience working with children with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
