Justteachers is seeking a dedicated and proactive Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Leyland. The role is due to start after February half term.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to help them overcome learning barriers.
  • Deliver general in-class support to pupils across a range of subjects, working alongside teachers to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Support students in small groups or on a one-to-one basis, adapting resources and strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage the development of students’ confidence, independence, and academic progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to ensure students receive the highest quality support.

What We’re Looking For

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly in an educational or SEN setting.
  • A positive and patient attitude, with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • The ability to adapt to the needs of different learners and manage a varied workload.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

While qualifications in education or SEN support are desirable, they are not essential if you have relevant experience and a willingness to learn.
