Justteachers is seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO) to join a thriving secondary school in Preston. This full-time position is available immediately and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young people.

About the Role

As the SENDCO, you will be at the heart of the school’s commitment to providing inclusive education. You will lead and manage the provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ensuring all students are supported to achieve their full potential.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and overseeing the SEND provision across the school.
  • Leading and supporting the identification, assessment, and monitoring of students with SEND.
  • Developing and implementing effective intervention strategies to support student progress.
  • Collaborating with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to create and review personalized plans.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, including Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Supporting staff with strategies to differentiate and create inclusive learning environments

About You

We are looking for a SENDCO who:

  • Holds the National Award for SEND Coordination (or is willing to work towards it).
  • Has experience working with secondary school students with a range of SEND needs.
  • Demonstrates excellent knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.
  • Possesses strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Is passionate about inclusion and committed to ensuring every child has access to high-quality education.
