We are seeking an experienced Teacher of Science to join our thriving secondary school in Batley starting Easter 2025. This is a full-time role requiring expertise across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 levels.

The Role

As a Teacher of Science, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality and engaging lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at KS3 and KS4 levels.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess lessons that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of all students.
  • Promote a love of science and foster curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in students.
  • Manage a full teaching timetable in a busy and vibrant secondary school environment.
  • Use innovative teaching strategies and technology to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Support the department in curriculum development and participate in extra-curricular science activities.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations in practical lessons.

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for an exceptional individual who has:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Significant experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4 in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, with the ability to deliver engaging and accurate lessons.
  • Proven ability to differentiate instruction to meet the varied learning needs of students.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of behaviour.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a demanding workload in a busy school environment.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for staying current in education and science.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach to working with colleagues, students, and parents.
