We are seeking a Behaviour Buddy to join our Specialist School setting in Lincoln. As a Behaviour Buddy, you will play a key role in supporting students to develop positive social and emotional skills, fostering a nurturing environment where students feel safe, respected, and valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support: Work with students who need additional behavioural support to help them manage their emotions and reactions in various school settings.
  • Behaviour management: Support teachers in creating and maintaining a positive and structured environment for students to thrive in.
  • Promote social skills: Encourage positive peer interactions, helping students navigate social situations, and supporting them in building relationships.
  • Monitor progress: Track student progress and report on improvements or areas needing attention to the school leadership team.
  • Collaborate with staff: Work closely with teachers, special educational needs (SEN) staff, and the wider school community to ensure consistency and tailored support for each student.
  • Provide emotional support: Be a trusted adult for students, offering a listening ear, building rapport, and helping them navigate challenges.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in child support or education: Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly in a school or educational setting, is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience and empathy: A positive, understanding attitude with a focus on helping children overcome difficulties.
  • Team player: Ability to work collaboratively with other school staff and external support agencies.
  • Behaviour management knowledge: Familiarity with techniques to support children with emotional and behavioural needs is an advantage.
  • Relevant qualifications: A background in education, psychology, or child development is desirable but not essential.
