An exciting opportunity has arisen at a Secondary School in Bradford to join their team from February or April 2025.

The school is part of an aspirational Academy Trust who want to appoint a full-time and permanent Teacher of Geography who is enthusiastic, innovation and committed to high expectation for both themselves and their students. The Teacher of Geography will inspire students of all abilities through their passion for the subject. They will be able to deliver Geography to KS3 and 4 with creative and engaging lessons that encourage students to achieve their full potential.

The Teacher of Geography will work within the Humanities Department with the support of the Head of Faculty. The Academy Trust believe in investing in their staff and offer strong CPD along with a supportive induction programme for their new staff.

This role is open to all Teachers of Geography from those with vast experience to ECTs at the start of their career.

 

Requirements

  • Graduate with QTS status or relevant teaching qualification
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum to KS4
  • Consistently good classroom practitioner
  • A proven track record of good student outcomes
  • Familiarity with the use of data to raise expectations
  • Ability to use ICT to aid teaching
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to apply effective behaviour management techniques
  • Willingness to learn and apply new strategies for improving and sustaining high quality teaching, learning and achievement
  • Commitment to continuing own professional development
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Geography at the secondary level, with a strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Two education or school-based references
