Justteachers is looking for a Full time SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in one of our SEN schools in Stratford upon Avon. This will be a full time role starting as soon as possible and is on going with no set end date yet.

This school has an Early years provision, a main school site for KS1 and KS2 and KS3 students and a 6th form site, so you would be expected to be comfortable working across the school if needed, but would be put in a set class depending on the needs at the time. There is plenty of support in the school and they have an amazing set up to help and guide staff to make sure they are giving the students the best education possible.

Key Duties Include:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN, adapting teaching materials and methods to suit their specific learning styles and needs.
  • Work closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other professionals (e.g., speech and language therapists, occupational therapists) to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting students.
  • Keep detailed records of student progress, behaviour, and any interventions used, which can be used for assessments and planning.
  • Help prepare the classroom for lessons, setting up materials and resources.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as photocopying, organizing resources, and maintaining a tidy and organized classroom environment.
  • Assist with personal care tasks, such as toileting, feeding, or mobility support, if required.

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • Level one or Two teaching assistant desirable but not essential
  • Proven experience in SEN
  • Strong knowledge of SEMH
  • Two education or school-based references
