Justteachers is seeking a committed and knowledgeable Chemistry Teacher to join one of our partner schools in Melton Mowbray. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified teacher to deliver high-quality lessons and inspire students to excel in Chemistry.

Key Responsibilities

As a Chemistry Teacher, you will:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum for Key Stages 3, 4, and possibly 5.
  • Teach Chemistry in a way that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and enthusiasm for the subject.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and/or A-Level exams by delivering effective lessons and providing targeted support.
  • Assess and monitor students’ progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively, creating a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share resources and best practices.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, training, and extracurricular activities that enhance the school’s science provision.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualifications.
  • Have a strong academic background in Chemistry or a related subject.
  • Possess experience teaching Chemistry at Key Stage 3 and 4 levels, with experience at Key Stage 5 being an advantage.
  • Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and a passion for science education.
  • Be able to motivate and engage students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS check on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Provide two professional school based references.
