An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Drama Specialist to join a dynamic secondary school located on the outskirts of Huddersfield. This long-term, full-time position involves confidently delivering the Drama curriculum at KS3 and KS4 levels, inspiring creativity and engagement among students.

While the primary focus will be Drama, the successful candidate will also cover additional subjects as required by the school’s timetable, providing a varied and rewarding teaching experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective Drama lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum and school guidelines.
  • Foster a creative and inclusive classroom environment that promotes a love of performing arts.
  • Cover other subjects as required by the school’s timetable.
  • Support students’ development through extracurricular activities such as school productions and drama clubs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, ideas, and best practices.
  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and student behaviour.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a strong background in Drama.
  • Proven experience teaching Drama at KS3 and KS4 in a secondary school setting.
  • Confidence and versatility to deliver lessons in additional subjects when needed.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • A commitment to the safeguarding and well-being of students.
