justteachers is working with a Secondary school in the south of Bradford who are seeking to appoint a French and Spanish Teacher to start as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching to the highest standard, committed to maintaining a positive learning environment and can develop their practice in the school.  This is a long term role offered until Easter in the first instance.  The school are happy to hear from candidates with a specialism in either French or Spanish and support can be given for the second language.

The role:

  • Deliver lessons relevant to the French and Spanish KS3 curriculum
  • Be responsible for the preparation and development of teaching materials, teaching programmes and pastoral arrangements as appropriate
  • Be aware of pupils’ capabilities, their prior knowledge and plan teaching and differentiate appropriately to build on these, demonstrating knowledge and understanding of how pupils learn
  • Establish a safe, purposeful and stimulating environment for pupils, rooted in mutual respect and establish a framework for discipline with a range of strategies, using praise, sanctions and rewards consistently and fairly

Requirements:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
  • Have successful teaching experience at secondary level (can be teaching practice)
  • Understand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning
  • Have knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4 for French and Spanish
  • Two education or school-based references
