justteachers is seeking a passionate Design and Technology Teacher with a specialism in Textiles to join a supportive secondary school in Bingley on a full-time maternity cover basis. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire creativity and innovation in students, fostering a love for design and textiles. The role is due to start after February half-term, with shortlisting beginning immediately.

Your Role:

  • Teach Design and Technology, with a focus on Textiles, to students across KS3 and KS4.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire creativity and practical skills development.
  • Support students in completing their coursework and preparing for exams, ensuring they meet curriculum standards.
  • Encourage students to explore different materials and techniques, fostering a passion for textiles and design.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored support to help them succeed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialism in Textiles.
  • Experience teaching Design and Technology at secondary school level, with a focus on textiles.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to inspire students’ creativity and interest in design.
  • Flexibility and a proactive approach, ready to contribute to the school’s vibrant and supportive learning environment.
  • A clear enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one.
  • The legal right to work in the UK.
  • Two education or school-based references are essential.
