Justteachers is seeking a full time SEN Teaching assistant to work 1 to 1 at a SEN school based in Rugby. This role is starting as soon as possible and will be on going until the summer of 2025.

This school is a primary and secondary SEN school with children aged between 5-18. They also have a separate 6th form site for students post 16. Working as a 1 to 1 SEN Teaching assistant here will require you to think on your feet, always be proactive and engaging with the students to ensure they have the best day.

Responsibilities:

  • Working 1 to 1
  • Supporting class teacher
  • Leading small groups
  • Reporting to class teacher to implement specialised plan for the student you’re working with
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting independence through the use of clear, consistent approaches.
  • Building positive relationships with parents and caregivers, maintaining open communication about student progress and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Full right to work in the UK
  • Clear enhanced DBS on the update service (we can help you get this)
  • Safeguarding training
  • 2 school/educational based references
  • Previous SEN experience
  • Level 1 or 2 teaching assistant qualification preferred but not essential
