Part-time Teacher of MFL required at a Bradford based Secondary School to start as soon as possible.

The Teacher of MFL will be required to teach French and Spanish over a three day period on a long-term basis. This is an open position in school and could be a permanent role for the right teacher.

The successful Teacher of MFL will have a good, up-to-date working knowledge and understanding of a range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies and know how to use and adapt them, including how to personalise learning to provide opportunities for all learners to achieve their potential. The Teacher of MFL will have secure subject knowledge and understanding of the French curriculum and related pedagogy.

The will also know:

  • The assessment requirements and arrangements for the subjects/curriculum areas they teach, including those relating to public examinations and qualifications.
  • A range of approaches to assessment, including the importance of formative assessment.
  • How to use local and national statistical information to evaluate the effectiveness of their teaching, to monitor the progress of those they teach and to raise levels of attainment.
  • How to use reports and other sources of external information related to assessment in order to provide learners with accurate and constructive feedback on their strengths, weaknesses, attainment, progress and areas for development, including action plans for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching MFL at the secondary level, with a strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Passion for MFL and a commitment to inspiring a love for the subject among students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners of all abilities.
  • Two education or school-based references
  • An enhanced DBS checks or be willing to apply for one
  • The legal right to work in the UK
