justteachers is seeking a dedicated and reliable Cover Supervisor to join a supportive team in a welcoming school located in a suburb in the north of Leeds. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the school day by supervising lessons in the absence of teaching staff. The lessons will be planned by the teachers, and your primary responsibility will be to manage the classroom, maintain a positive learning environment, and support students as they engage with their work.  This full-time role is to start as soon as possible until Easter with the possibility of a permanent role for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task with their set work.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policy.
  • Provide assistance to students where needed to help them complete their work.
  • Liaise with teaching staff to understand lesson objectives and expectations.
  • Uphold the school’s values and contribute to its positive ethos.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with young people ideally in an education setting
  • Is confident, adaptable, and able to manage a classroom effectively.
  • Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is proactive, reliable, and committed to supporting students’ learning.
  • Holds an Enhanced clear DBS check or is willing to apply for one
  • Has two education or school based references
  • Has the legal right to work in the UK
