Justteachers is seeking a Religious Studies to join a vibrant Catholic secondary school in the Astley area to cover on a long-term The full-time post is due to start in March/April with shortlisting currently taking place.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Teaching Religious Education: Plan and deliver lessons on Catholic beliefs, practices, and values, incorporating scripture, theology, and moral reasoning to deepen students’ understanding of their faith.
  • Fostering Spiritual Growth: Encourage students to explore and develop their personal faith and spiritual journey while promoting Catholic values such as compassion, justice, and community service.
  • Promoting Catholic Ethos: Actively support and participate in the Catholic life of the school, including liturgical celebrations, prayer, and pastoral activities.

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • Relevant qualifications to the role
  • Proven experience teaching/supporting Religious Studies or Humanities
  • Strong knowledge of Religious Education
  • Two education or school-based references
  • A Clear Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one.
  • The legal right to work in the UK
