Justteachers is recruiting agency looking for an enthusiastic and resolute History Teacher to work within one of our partner secondary schools in Leicester. This role provides a brilliant opportunity to positively impact young people through high quality teaching.  This position is a long-term role starting in February and will last for the academic school year.

Key responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and effective History lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Key Stage 5 experience is an advantage).
  • Preparing students for GCSE exams and ensuring they meet or exceed their target grades.
  • Creating a positive learning environment that fosters a love for History.
  • Differentiating lesson plans to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
  • Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to enhance the History curriculum and share best practices.
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively to maintain a respectful and productive learning atmosphere.
  • Attending staff meetings, parent evenings, and professional development sessions.

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Experience teaching History at KS3 / KS4
  • Two education/school-based references
  • Creative curriculum delivery
  • A clear enhanced DBS
