Justteachers Teaching Agency is seeking a skilled and compassionate SEN Teacher to join an alternative provision establishment in Solihull. This full-time role involves working with students who require additional support due to social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH) or other special educational needs (SEN). The position begins in January 2025, with the possibility of an earlier start. This role will turn into a permanent position for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet the unique needs of students within an alternative provision setting
  • Foster a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages positive behaviour and engagement
  • Assess and monitor student progress, implementing interventions where necessary to aid development
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff, to ensure holistic support for students
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students, parents, and caregivers to promote learning and well-being
  • Adapt teaching methods to address a range of SEN, including SEMH, ASD, and other learning difficulties

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with SEN students in alternative provision or specialist settings (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong understanding of SEN, particularly SEMH, ASD, and related challenges
  • Passionate about providing opportunities for students to achieve and thrive in a supportive environment
  • Excellent communication, patience, and behaviour management skills
  • A flexible, creative approach to teaching and problem-solving
  • You must have the legal requirements to work in the UK
