Job Description

 

Are you a compassionate and enthusiastic individual passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? Justteachers are proud to partner with a specialist SEN provision in Norwich that is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team in January 2025.

This rewarding role involves working closely with students who have a range of additional needs, where your support will play a vital role in helping these students thrive both academically and personally.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with diverse SEN requirements, tailoring your approach to meet their unique needs.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging, accessible lessons and adapting resources to promote inclusive learning.
  • Foster a nurturing and positive environment that encourages students’ emotional and social development.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour effectively, using strategies to support students with complex needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to implement EHCPs
  • Support students during structured activities and unstructured times, ensuring their safety and well-being.

 

Key Requirements

 

  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, ideally in an SEN or specialist school setting.
  • A Teaching Assistant qualification would be desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with students who face additional challenges.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the students and the school environment.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
