Job Description

Are you a compassionate and enthusiastic individual passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? Justteachers are proud to partner with a specialist SEN provision in Norwich that is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team in January 2025.

This rewarding role involves working closely with students who have a range of additional needs, where your support will play a vital role in helping these students thrive both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with diverse SEN requirements, tailoring your approach to meet their unique needs.
Assist teachers in delivering engaging, accessible lessons and adapting resources to promote inclusive learning.
Foster a nurturing and positive environment that encourages students’ emotional and social development.
Help manage classroom behaviour effectively, using strategies to support students with complex needs.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to implement EHCPs
Support students during structured activities and unstructured times, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Requirements

Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, ideally in an SEN or specialist school setting.
A Teaching Assistant qualification would be desirable.
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with students who face additional challenges.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
A willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the students and the school environment.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Right to work in the UK.
