Job Description:

 

Are you a compassionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Justteachers are thrilled to partner with an exceptional SEMH school near Wisbech that is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team in January 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in supporting young people, helping them achieve their potential in a nurturing and dynamic environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist the teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons, adapting materials to suit individual learning needs.
  • Build trusting relationships with students to support their emotional well-being and personal development.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting a calm and focused atmosphere.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student progress.
  • Support students during activities, both in and out of the classroom, to enhance their educational experience.

Key Requirements:

 

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an SEMH or similar setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach, with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to challenging situations with a proactive and flexible mindset.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
