Justteachers Teaching Agency is seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a student with special educational needs (SEN) from January. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on a child’s learning and development in a nurturing school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to a student with SEN, ensuring their learning and emotional needs are met.
  • Assist with tailored lessons and activities to support the student’s individual learning goals.
  • Help the student engage with the curriculum and participate fully in classroom activities.
  • Implement strategies and interventions as directed by the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
  • Monitor the student’s progress and well-being, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Assist with behaviour management and emotional support as required.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment, ensuring the student feels valued and supported.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure the student’s needs are met effectively.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally with children who have SEN.
  • A good understanding of various SEN needs, including autism, ADHD, and emotional/behavioral difficulties.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build a positive relationship with the student.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, supporting the teacher and other staff members.
  • Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children with additional needs.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and safeguarding.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
